Modern Slavery Statement
Man and Van Notting Hill Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man and Van Notting Hill takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our organisation or among our suppliers.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man and Van Notting Hill has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, servitude and child labour. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, organisation or supplier that is complicit in or benefits from such practices. All staff, contractors and suppliers are expected to uphold this commitment as a fundamental condition of working with us.
Our leadership team is responsible for promoting a culture where human rights are respected and protected. We expect everyone who works for or with Man and Van Notting Hill to play an active role in identifying and reporting any concerns related to modern slavery.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Man and Van Notting Hill provides transport and moving services, operating primarily within the local and regional logistics sector. Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, recruitment agencies and other professional service providers. We recognise that certain areas of the transport and logistics industry, including the use of agency labour and outsourced services, can present heightened risks related to modern slavery.
We are committed to understanding these risks and to working only with suppliers who share our values and adhere to legal and ethical labour standards.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all our suppliers and business partners to comply with applicable laws relating to employment, human rights and modern slavery. As a condition of engagement, suppliers must confirm that they do not use any form of forced, bonded or involuntary labour and that they do not tolerate human trafficking or child labour in their own operations and supply chains.
We carry out proportionate checks on new suppliers based on risk, including assessing geographic location, the nature of goods or services supplied and the use of temporary or migrant labour. Where appropriate, we may request supporting documentation or declarations concerning labour practices.
We reserve the right to conduct supplier audits, which may include site visits, document reviews and interviews, either conducted directly by Man and Van Notting Hill or by an appointed third party. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our requirements, we will seek prompt corrective action. Where serious or repeated breaches occur, we will suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected with our business. Reports can be made openly or anonymously through internal reporting channels made available by management. No individual raising a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation.
Managers are responsible for escalating any reports of suspected modern slavery to senior management without delay. All allegations will be reviewed promptly and, where necessary, investigated. If we identify evidence of modern slavery, we will take appropriate action, which may include notifying relevant authorities and supporting affected individuals to access appropriate assistance.
Training and Awareness
We aim to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management. Where relevant, employees receive guidance on recognising indicators of modern slavery, understanding our reporting channels and applying our zero-tolerance policy in their day-to-day roles.
We will continue to develop and refine our training and communication as our understanding of modern slavery risks evolves and as best practice standards advance.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with senior management, who review the effectiveness of our policies, controls and supplier oversight. We monitor the outcomes of supplier checks, audits, training and any reported concerns to identify patterns, areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, relevant and aligned with current legislation and guidance. As part of the review, we assess our progress, consider any incidents or emerging risks and set objectives for further strengthening our controls. Updated versions of this statement will reflect any significant changes to our policies, procedures or governance arrangements.
Man and Van Notting Hill is committed to continuous improvement in the prevention of modern slavery and to maintaining a transparent, responsible and ethical approach to all aspects of our business.
